Born in Inglewood, CA, and spent youth in Rolling Hills, CA; Oahu, Hawaii; Baldwin Hills, CA; Phoenix, Arizona and Santa Monica, CA. 

Son of late Roger G. Baker (telecommunications sales and USMC retired) and mother Janis L. Baker (R.N.) and brother of Ellen Louise Baker (L.V.N. and mother of three) and James Montgomery Baker (professional guitarist and song writer).  

Graduated from 
Santa Monica High School in 1974 and received a B.S. degree in Business Administration (Finance option) from California State University, Northridge in 1979. Became a certified public accountant (CPA) in 2001. 

Worked for Prudential Life Insurance, Coca-Cola Enterprises, EDS, Arthur Andersen and Warner Bros. Currently employed at Watt Companies.

Youth activities included neighborhood and beach activities, Little League, Cub and Boy Scouts, going to baseball games, camping, sailing and flying with late maternal grandfather Russell Robertson.

Current hobbies include playing guitar and trumpet. They also include urban walking and political discourse with peace activists and neo-conservatives. Earned my open water scuba diver license in Maui, Hawaii and have taken horse back riding lessons at Pepperdine University, CA. Swimming at UCLA Sunset Recreational Center and working out at the gym round out my physical activities. I have also studied photography, piano and Shakespeare.

I have enjoyed business and pleasure travel opportunities when they have presented themselves.
England, France, AustriaGermany and Japan have been foreign destinations while most of the major cities in the United States have been visited and explored.

Interests include sports and politics. Favorite spectator sports include NHRA drag dacing, NASCAR auto racing, professional bull riding, professional boxing, big-wave surfing, NBA basketball and NFL football. CNN, ESPN and HBO are my favorite media outlets. 

Body surfed, and played a lot of golf and basketball in my younger days. While growing up, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Rams, Lakers and Kings were my favorite teams with a special loyaty to the "Broadway Joe" New York Jets and "John Elway" Denver Broncos.

A friend of animals, I have had a German Shepherd dog named "George", a pet Mockingbird named "Beethoven", two pairs of mice - "Bonnie and Clyde" and "Tulip and Petunia" and three tabby cats, my late "Quincy" and my current pet pals "Benny" and "Bix".
